Welcoming our new students, the 2023 induction
Faire défiler la pageThe 2023 academic year is officially open! 280 new students from all four corners of the globe joined us in an atmosphere that was both friendly and meaningful, for an unforgettable freshers’ week! Here we look back over this latest edition of our Feel Good Days, which marks the beginning of a grand adventure for our 1st-year students in the Bachelor’s degrees in Culinary Arts, Pastry and Hospitality-Restaurant Management.
Induction for international students
International students were invited to join the Institut Lyfe campus before anyone else, in order to get acquainted with our culture, customs, language, city, etc. With three days entirely dedicated to them, the new undergraduates were able to complete administrative formalities, intercultural activities and a visit to Lyon.
The programme was tailor-made for these students representing 50 different nationalities, and aimed at facilitating their integration in a country that they are just starting to get to know. Our international students also received a welcome box to give them the best possible introduction to the culture of France and Lyon, which included, among other things, a photo book of the capital of the Gauls and some little sweet and savoury treats.
Did you know? Institut Lyfe has obtained “Welcome to France” label, which attests to the quality of its reception facilities for international students, and the school also actively participates in the Campus France network to offer the best reception support to all of its students.
A week of building connections
Freshers’ week is probably the most eagerly anticipated event for students who have come to enjoy the Institut Lyfe experience. Most have just left secondary education and are about to discover the world of higher education and a new phase in their lives.
This week of sharing and conviviality provides the opportunity for our 2023 intake to discover the campus, the teaching teams who will accompany them for the next few years, and their new classmates. It is also a flagship event to create connections between freshers, as well as getting to know students from previous years.
With events including a grand welcome chaired by our CEO, Dominique Giraudier, as well as uniform fittings, a tour around the streets of Lyon to discover our graduates, and a white party and gala banquet, our new students rounded off an exciting week by receiving our famous pins, a symbol of their official acceptance into Institut Lyfe.
Each one of them has achieved the dream of joining a modern, bold and innovative school that embodies excellence “à la française”. We take pride in ensuring that each student flourishes in their own way, developing creativity, altruism, courage and entrepreneurial spirit.
