47 international students coming from 15 members schools of the Alliance by Institut Paul Bocuse – network of higher learning schools specialized in excellence in Hospitality Management and the Culinary Arts – did their intake at Institut Paul Bocuse.
40 students make up the 14th Advanced Culinary Arts class and 7 students the first ever Hospitality & Foodservice class. These students from 16 different nationalities are gathered by a common passion and sharing the same objective: discovering the French gastronomic know-how and honoring their culinary culture.
Ambassadors of their own culture, these top students selected by their universities will spend 14 weeks at Institut Paul Bocuse. During their stay, they will learn new techniques (cuisine, pastry, baking, arts of the table according the program chosen), improve their skills and experience an incredible human adventure. This yearly intensive immersion will enable them to meet people from all over the world, create bonds between each other and showcase their culinary culture. Transmission and team work will be at the heart of this international experience.
This program will combine both practical and theoretical lessons, demonstrations, visits and tastings, and meetings. Among the major events, Alliance by Institut Paul Bocuse students will manage the Experience restaurant of the Institut Paul Bocuse, welcome guests and offer them a seasonal cuisine during six weeks. They will test their creativity as part of a street food challenge, an event organized by students in the Strategic Meetings and Events Management specialization. Finally they will be at the controls of the traditional buffet “Cuisine du Monde”.
The promotion 2018 will also get the opportunity to discover deeply the city of Lyon and its surroundings.
