Faire défiler la pageThe 9th edition of the Accor Revenue Management Challenge took place from 28 January to 5 March under a revised format to comply with the current health regulations. 10 students from the Institut Paul Bocuse Lifestyle Hospitality Management specialisation and 10 students from the IAE Savoie Mont-Blanc University’s Revenue Management Master’s programme teamed up for an inter-school case study on the customer experience in lifestyle hotel rooms.
This project was led by Frédéric Toitot, Director of Revenue Management at the Accor Group and a graduate of the University of Chambery, and Nicolas Stachowiak, a graduate of Institut Paul Bocuse and Lifestyle Brand Manager at Accor.
Innovation, feasibility and teamwork
Lifestyle hotels are currently the fastest growing segment in the hospitality industry. For the 2021 edition of the challenge, students were asked to address a sales and marketing issue related to the customer experience in lifestyle hotel rooms, which are becoming more and more exclusive. How to market and sell rooms that are smaller than traditional ones in the same market? Or how to avoid damaging the brand image perceived by the customer and guarantee a pleasant experience?
4 teams of 5 students produced a report containing an analysis and recommendations, which they then presented to a mixed panel of Accor professionals and professors responsible for judging the level of innovation and feasibility of their recommendations. The panel was impressed by the quality of the students’ recommendations, who were particularly inspired by this topic.
In the end, this challenge gave our students the opportunity to broaden their network and to rub shoulders with managers from the Accor group. And for the winners, the prize was a stay at Jo&Joe in Hossegor!
Learning in a collaborative and fun way
At Institut Paul Bocuse, our students’ learning is structured around collaborative projects that reflect the latest developments in our professions. In addition to theoretical classes and practical work situations, students learn to work differently through inter-university case studies, serious games, SPOCs, etc.
