Institut Lyfe inaugurates a brasserie and a patisserie-bakery at the heart of the emlyon business school campus
Faire défiler la pageLyon, 7 April 2025. emlyon business school and Institut Lyfe have joined forces to inaugurate “La Table” brasserie and “L’Atelier” bakery, both open to the public and located at the heart of the school of management’s new campus. A result of the successful partnership between the two institutions, these new training and culinary destinations fulfil a shared desire to offer exceptional training to their students while remaining closely connected to the city.
Institut Lyfe, an international benchmark for training in Management within the Culinary Arts, Pastry, and Hospitality-Restaurant sectors, has launched two establishments at the heart of the emlyon business school campus, open to students, teachers, campus staff and the general public:
- “La Table” brasserie offers 80 seats and a terrace seating an additional 70 customers. The menu features Mediterranean-inspires gourmet and local cuisine, with convivial sharing dishes such as Labné, Carrot & Zaatar or Smoked Stracciatella. Specialities such as the “cacio e pepe” tagliatelle will win over pasta lovers, and the constantly evolving menu is set to please.
- In parallel, “L’Atelier” bakery offers a snack menu, including sweet and savoury creations dreamed up by the chefs at Institut Lyfe, ranging from breads, pastries, sandwiches and snacks, to pastries and other delicacies.

These two establishments represent laboratories of experimentation and learning, where young talents will be trained in the Restaurant, Culinary Arts and Pastry professions. These applied learning environments are as busily staffed in the kitchen as on the floor by students from the various Bachelor’s degrees at Institut Lyfe. This hands-on professional experience, supervised by their trainers, sees them all working collaboratively to deliver sustainable, gourmet and locally sourced cuisine.

A shared desire to strengthen the collaboration between the two schools and deepen the connection to the city
Establishing Institut Lyfe’s restaurant and training bakery at the heart of the emlyon business school campus builds on the existing partnership between the two institutions. Since 2014, Institut Lyfe and emlyon business school have been delivering a joint Master’s programme to students looking to specialise in Hospitality Management. With a truly strategic international dimension (3 key cities of study in France and the United States), the MSc in International Hospitality Management, certified by the Conférence des Grandes Ecoles, trains world leaders in the sector. This programme is based on a common educational vision combining the “makers” DNA of emlyon and the application excellence of Institut Lyfe, promoting the hybridisation of knowledge.
The launch of the restaurant and bakery also testifies to the desire to promote openness to the city and connection to the ecosystem of the Gerland neighbourhood. In addition, the aim is to encourage interaction and synergies between students of the two institutions.
” This new venture reflects our new campus: designed to offer the best experience to our students and decidedly open to the city. We are proud to consolidate our links with Institut Lyfe, with whom we share academic standards and an educational approach based on experiential learning and experimentation. This partnership also embodies the hybridisation of knowledge, which is at the heart of our School’s strategy in order to train professionals of the future capable of transforming organisations.”
Isabelle Huault, President of the Management Board and Dean of emlyon
“The opening of La Table and L’Atelier in the heart of the emlyon campus fully embodies our mission: to train a new generation of committed, expert and creative managers through experiential learning. These places are much more than restaurant spaces; they are living laboratories of learning and innovation, where our students develop their skills in real-life conditions, serving the public and mindful of the challenges of sustainability and excellence.”
