Our MSc in International Hospitality Management is evolving
Faire défiler la pageIn response to constant changes in the hospitality industry and the growing internationalisation of careers, Institut Lyfe is developing its MSc-Master of Science in International Hospitality Management, in partnership with emlyon business school.
This five-year degree programme is now offered over two years, with flexible admission requirements and personalised study paths, in order to better suit the profiles of students who wish to enrol.
A one- or two-year programme depending on your background
The MSc-Master of Science in International Hospitality Management is changing to accommodate a variety of profiles, while guaranteeing a high level of expertise at the end of the programme. Admissions are open:
- In the first year (two-year programme), for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree, regardless of their specialisation.
- In the second year (one-year programme), for candidates with a four-year Bachelor’s degree in hospitality or a degree with a specialisation in hospitality.
In order to ensure consistent academic progression, the first year includes two distinct study paths from the first semester onwards:
- The Business Track, designed for students with backgrounds in management, commerce or related disciplines;
- The Hospitality Track, intended for students who already have a bachelor’s degree in hospitality.

An international training
Taught entirely in English, the MSc-Master of Science in International Hospitality Management draws on the expertise of renowned international lecturers, researchers and professionals. It offers a global perspective on the sector and prepares students to thrive in complex, multicultural environments.
The programme also has a strong international dimension:
- Opportunities for mobility at one of our partner universities abroad,
- Several learning trips, designed to provide a better understanding of the cultural, economic and managerial challenges of the international hospitality industry.
Students develop solid skills in management, leadership, experience design and innovation, which are essential for understanding new business models in the international hotel industry and supporting transformations in the sector.
Each cycle of the programme can be supplemented by a 4- to 6-month internship, enabling students to enhance their employability and apply what they have learned in the real world.
Experiential learning
Classes are held on the campuses of Institut Lyfe and emlyon business school in Lyon, offering an academic environment of excellence and strong synergy between management and hospitality.
The programme combines theory and strategic analysis, creativity and innovation, and practical projects. Students apply their skills through structured projects, including:
- Capstone Projects (Year 1 and Year 2): team challenges involving the creation of concepts that integrate design, marketing and financial planning dimensions;
- A consulting assignment, carried out for industry players, confronting students with real-world issues.
